Darlene Love

  • Sugar Loaf PAC 1351 Kings Highway Sugar Loaf NY 10981 (map)

Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center is excited to announce an evening with the voice that helped launch a hundred hits, like “The Boy I’m Gonna Marry,” “He’s a Rebel,” and “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home),” iconic singer and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Darlene Love on Saturday, February 6th at 8 PM in the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center!

Darlene has been shaping pop music since 1957, when she was asked to join the Blossoms while she was still in high school. Darlene and the Blossoms went on to perform with almost every musical act under the sun, including Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, the Beach Boys, the Mamas and the Papas, Sonny and Cher, Tom Jones, and Luther Vandross. Her contributions to music as one of the greatest session vocalists and backup singers paved the way for her emergence as a star in her own right, with Billboard hits like “Wait ‘Til My Bobby Gets Home,” “A Fine, Fine Boy,” and “He’s Sure the Boy I Love.” In 2011 she received one of the highest honors in her field and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and performed with both Bette Midler and Bruce Springsteen at the ceremony.
