The Amish Outlaws

Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 7:30 PM at NYC Rockin' The River Cruises on The Circle Line

The Amish Outlaws

It is a little-known fact that most Amish  practice a tradition called "Rumspringa" (literal translation: "running around") in which Amish children at the age of 16 have an opportunity to live free of the strict Amish code of conduct before deciding if they want to come back and be baptized into the Amish church. Surprisingly, virtually all of the youths return. But sometimes they don’t.

Four out of the original six members of The Amish Outlaws were born and raised in Lancaster, PA and had a strict Amish upbringing. No electricity from land lines, no alcohol, no musical instruments, but their spirits were too wild for the Amish lifestyle. Once they trampled in the Devil's Playground, there was no turning back. In the years since Rumspringa, the members of the Amish Outlaws have become very well acclimated to the pleasures and vices of the modern world...music, most of all.

Sharing not only the bond of having left the Amish life behind, but also the deep mutual love of music, needless to say, the Brothers were soon like brothers, and together they delved deeply into the 16 years of American culture they missed, watching endless hours of classic MTV, listening to the radio, CDs, records, tapes... anything they could get their hands on. But just listening and watching was not enough...  the Brothers soon decided to form a band that combined their love of the modern world and their traditional upbringing. They met Brothers Jakob and Ishmael (both “English" as we call the non-Amish), making them “honorary Amish" when the two joined the band. Thus, with a bold lust for life and a fire for music and performance that can only come from 16 years of repression, The Amish Outlaws were unleashed upon the world.

In 2007, Brother Big Daddy Abel joined The Amish Outlaws on lead vocals and guitar. A brother and friend to us all! In 2013, Brother Ishmael stepped down to live a quieter life and Brother Elijah Rule joined the fold on guitar. There is no "typical" Amish Outlaws show, but the average crowd can expect to see men in full Amish garb releasing all of their pent up energy with an infectious joy. With a set that is always evolving as the Brothers discover more and more music and culture, The Amish Outlaws constantly surprise the audience and keep them guessing as to what they could possibly play next, from Johnny Cash to Jay Z, Lady Gaga to Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre, Bon Jovi to Elvis Presley, The Foo Fighters to Dropkick Murphys, to theme songs from the TV shows they have come to know. Throughout, The Outlaws spin yarns about the Brothers' upbringing and adventures since Rumpsringa. Amish Outlaw gigs are less performances than they are initiations into the life of an Amish Outlaw and parties celebrating the Brothers' newfound freedom.

The New York Times called Willie Nile “one of the most gifted singer-songwriters to emerge from the New York scene in years.” His album Streets Of New York was hailed as “a platter for the ages” by UNCUT magazine. Rolling Stone listed The Innocent Ones as one of the “Top Ten Best Under-The-Radar Albums of 2011” and BBC Radio called it “THE rock ‘n’ roll album of the year.” Bono, Bruce Springsteen, Pete Townshend, Lou Reed, Lucinda Williams, Jim Jarmusch, and Little Steven are among those who have sung his praises. His album, American Ride, won “Best Rock Album of the Year” at the Independent Music Awards. It appeared on over one hundred year-end Top Ten lists for 2013 and Bono called it, “One of the great guides to unraveling the mystery that is the troubled beauty of America.”

In 2017 he released the critically acclaimed album "Positively Bob – Willie Nile Sings Bob Dylan”. Willie has toured across the U.S. with the Who and has sung with Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band. As the induction program from the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame says: "His live performances are legendary". He is currently bringing his dynamic live show and amazing rock and roll band to enraptured audiences worldwide.

The Nerds

Friday, August 9, 2019 at 7:30 PM at NYC Rockin’ The River Cruise on The Circle Line

The Nerds Music Without Borders

The Nerds…….playing a blend of Soul, Classic Rock, and TV themes. Their stage show and banter was largely influenced by Monty Python and David Letterman’s love of the absurd and Howard Stern’s disregard for tact. More often than not, pointless arguments onstage about trivial matters became a regular part of the act. One of the Nerds most requested bits, came in the way of a sing along inspired by a hot dog cart operator. At lunch one day, Spaz overhear the vendor’s boom-box playing Neil Diamond’s ”Sweet Caroline. When the chorus came around the guy chimed in “Sweeeet Caroline… pah pah pah”. Finding this childishly amusing, Spaz decided to add this to the Nerds set, along with getting the audience to sing the infectious “…pah pah pah…”. It became a regular part of the act, and there isn’t a night that goes by when some reluctant participant isn’t coerced into singing along. “It’s all in good fun, and people love the attention. I hear even Neil Diamond has added it to his live show.” Before long they had developed a strong fan base of people not looking for the same old thing.

Wanted DOA - America's Truly Authentic Bon Jovi Tribute

Friday, July 26, 2019 at 7:30 PM at NYC Rockin' The River Cruises on The Circle Line

Wanted DOA Music Without Borders

The sentiment of Bon Jovi’s music hits home and no matter the age group, their music is iconic and recognizable to the masses. As one of history’s most successful music acts with over 130 million RIAA certified sales and countless awards, it’s no wonder there are countless acts looking to pay tribute to this legendary group. However, there is only one who truly captures the authenticity of what Bon Jovi’s music is all about and what their fans demand; Wanted DOA.

The group first formed in 2015 with the goal of capturing both the studio and live aspects of the songs and to really hone in on the essence of Bon Jovi. First and foremost it is all about the music – working the vocal harmonies, guitar and keyboard sounds, and most importantly the lead vocals. To be a good Bon Jovi tribute you need to sound as much like Jon as possible! A pretty tough feat….

Next…The live show! The goal is to put on a performance reminiscent of the rock shows from days long gone. Sound, lights and to engage the crowd, getting them on their feet while screaming for one more. For Wanted DOA, it is a celebration of the music, while at the same time, trying to deliver an authentic experience to all the other fans of Bon Jovi.

ZOSO: The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience

Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 7:30 PM at NYC Rockin’ The River Cruises on The Circle Line

ZOSO Music Without Borders

ZOSO - The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience formed in 1995 to perform the most accurate and captivating Led Zeppelin live show since the real thing. For Zoso, it's much more than just being a tribute. It's about touching a golden era in music. Zoso embodies Page, Plant, Bonham and Jones in their spirit, tightly-wound talent and authenticity.

Each band member has been carefully selected to portray both the appearance and playing styles of their Led Zeppelin counterparts. In eighteen successful years of touring, they have perfected their art. As one of the longest tenured Zeppelin tributes, Zoso's 2400 live shows around the world, including slots at major festivals such as Bonnaroo and Rib America Fest, have established them as the most traveled and successful band in the market.

Zoso's live shows are not about simply playing the right notes, they are about aura and feeling, harkening back to the unique atmosphere Led Zeppelin created. It's in the way they play: Each band member's mastery of authentic vintage instruments coupled with spot-on vocals, guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards, their compelling stage persona and distinct Led Zeppelin sound, with astounding visual imagery recreates the music, magic, and mystery of a Zeppelin concert. The impact is so powerful that band members constantly hear from young rockers that they were the catalyst behind turning them into new, die-hard Zeppelin fans.

Their passion, musical ability, showmanship and precise attention to detail earned them critical acclaim, name recognition and a loyal national following. The Los Angeles Times hailed the group as being "head and shoulders above all other Zeppelin tributes," and the Chicago Sun-Times declared Zoso is "the closest to the original of any tribute."

If you missed Led Zeppelin live in the 70's or are looking to relive the "Hammer of the Gods" phenomenon, you must experience what the St. Petersburg Times calls "the most exacting of the Zeppelin tribute bands in existence."

Zoso is: Matt Jernigan-Robert Plant; John McDaniel-Jimmy Page; Adam Sandling-John Paul Jones; Bevan Davies-John Bonham
