Paul Reiser

Friday, February 7, 2020 at 8:00 PM at Tarrytown Music Hall

Paul Reiser Music Without Borders

Comedian, actor, television writer, author, and musician Paul Reiser has been busier than usual lately. He's currently starring in two hit shows for Netflix: 'Stranger Things,’ in which he stars as Dr. Sam Owens, in a role created by the Duffer Brothers with him specifically in mind, and he’s also joined the cast of "The Kominsky Method" staring alongside Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin. The second season of “The Kominsky Method," created by Chuck Lorre, premiered October 25th, 2019. This follows two shows for Amazon: three seasons on “Red Oaks” - in a role singled out as “one of his absolute finest, not just of late, but of ever.” - and in "Mad Men" creator Matt Weiner’s limited series ‘The Romanoffs.’ alongside Christina Hendricks and Isabelle Huppert. And this very busy year will end with the highly anticipated return of “Mad About You,” the long-running hit comedy of the 90’s in which Reiser starred with Helen Hunt, which Reiser also co-created. In addition to Reiser’s multiple Emmy, Golden Globe, American Comedy Award and Screen Actors Guild nominations, “Mad About You”, won numerous Emmy awards, a coveted Peabody and a Golden Globe for Best Comedy Series. The original series ended in May 1999 and will now return, 20 years later, as a limited series on Spectrum Originals - the first comedy they're producing - debuting in the holiday season later this year.

ArtGarfunkel2019fb.jpg

Blessed with what the New York Times described as a “beautiful countertenor,” singer ART GARFUNKEL has made an indelible mark on the music world as both a solo artist and half of the unrivaled Simon & Garfunkel.  He has also enjoyed a successful film career, published a book of poetry and released 12 solo albums, the most recent being SOME ENCHANTED EVENING in 2007. In late 2017 he released an autobiography, What Is It All But Luminous: Notes From An Underground Man (Alfred A. Knopf). Since then, he has been busy as a husband and father to his two sons, 27 year-old James and 12-year-old Beau Daniel.  He is also an avid walker who has walked across Japan, the US (celebrated in the 1997 concert DVD ACROSS AMERICA) and now Europe. GARFUNKEL was originally revered for his Grammy-winning, chart-topping songs and albums with partner and fellow NYC native Paul Simon.

Their greatest hits collection, which includes “Mrs. Robinson,” “Scarborough Fair,” “The Sound Of Silence,” “The Boxer” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” among others, is one of the biggest selling album ever. After Simon & Garfunkel parted ways in 1970, GARFUNKEL landed several major film roles, including “Carnal Knowledge” (opposite Jack Nicholson), “Catch 22” and Nicholas Roeg’s “Bad Timing/A Sensual Obsession.”  His solo debut ANGEL CLARE spawned the top 10 hit “All I Know.”  His other solo albums include BREAKAWAY (‘75; features the hit “I Only Have Eyes For You”), WATERMARK (‘78; featuring “[What A] Wonderful World” with James Taylor and Paul Simon), FATE FOR BREAKFAST (‘79), SCISSORS CUT (‘81), THE ANIMALS’ CHRISTMAS (‘86), LEFTY (‘88), GARFUNKEL (greatest hits, ‘88), UP TILL NOW (‘93), ACROSS AMERICA (‘97), SONGS FROM A PARENT TO A CHILD (‘97), EVERYTHING WAITS TO BE NOTICED (’03), SOME ENCHANTED EVENING (’07) and THE SINGER (2012). The late ‘80s brought two new challenges for GARFUNKEL: he published Still Water, a collection of poetry in ‘89, and began an amazing trek across America--on foot.  But the ‘80s and ‘90s found GARFUNKEL doing what he does best: singing for an audience.  “Taking on the fear and vulnerability of a live show keeps you vital,” says GARFUNKEL, who relishes the opportunity to perform new and classic material for fans around the world.  “I’m a singer trying to get away with a lucky job.  I try to soothe, to lift...That’s my life.”

2 Nights of The Mavericks at Tarrytown Music Hall 12/6 & 7/2017

A Music Hall favorite returns! The Mavericks are back for a two night run, supporting their new album Brand New Day.  The genre-defying Mavericks are declaring their independence and stepping out on their own with Brand New Day, the first studio album released on Mono Mundo Recordings, the label they founded in 2016. Brand New Day is the follow-up to the widely praised albums Mono (2015) and In Time (2013). Flashing the same exhilarating, beyond-category style that has defined the Mavericks, the new album introduces a collection of taut, energetic, economical songs sure to be embraced by both original fans of their top-10 albums and hit singles of the ‘90s and a new generation of listeners who have joined the party since their triumphant 2012 reunion. It is the mature and timely work of an exciting and underestimated American band that has embraced its own destiny. “This is the first studio record on our own label, and it is an important component in the band’s history,” Malo says, “but the real goal was just to make a great record.” The new collection – co-produced like its immediate predecessors by the band’s golden-voiced singer Raul Malo and Niko Bolas (Neil Young, Warren Zevon, Melissa Etheridge), who is partnered with the band in the new Mono Mundo imprint – features the core members of the group since their reformation: Malo, drummer Paul Deakin, guitarist Eddie Perez, and keyboardist Jerry Dale McFadden, along with auxiliary members “the Fantastic Four” filling out the set’s brawny sound with their signature accordion and horns.

Stephen Stills & Judy Collins together again | Tarrytown Music Hall | Oct 12th

The two icons of folk will celebrate the golden anniversary of their formative time together. Their joint tour marks the first time ever Stills and Collins have been onstage together. For this once in a lifetime experience, the two music legends will pull from their rich catalogs, debut songs from their upcoming album, due out Summer of 2017, and share warm and intimate stories from their journeys and the1960s folk and Laurel Canyon scenes they helped build. 50 years ago, singer-songwriter Stephen Stills met singer-songwriter Judy Collins, known for her piercing ocean blue eyes. Their tumultuous love affair would later be immortalized by Stills with his composition “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes,” performed by Crosby, Stills & Nash on their landmark debut. Both artists would go gone to shape modern music with visionary approaches, but Stills and Collins’ short fiery union remains a transformative era for the two artists.
